Makayla kept me on my toes this morning..that's for sure! I still, however, managed to make something for Hannah's class party and put on make-up and do my hair. That's reason enough to celebrate and document:)

I made these little "Mummy Dogs" that Pillsbury had on their website. You're supposed to put little mustard eye dot things on them, but I was afraid picky eaters wouldn't like that. I also omitted the cheese because the reviews said the dough didn't bake where the cheese was. They were still a big hit and I noticed some kids even had two of them. This morning Hannah said, "Mommy, the kids are NOT going to like that" when she saw the picture, but after the kids chowed down on them, she was saying "My mom brought those"! She's so funny. She also told me that I was the "best mommy" tonight. That made me really, really happy.

All the kids got to wear their costumes to school today. This is what was left of her costume when I got there..the headband. Oh well, she's still a cutie!

Makayla had a lot of fun at Hannah's school party too. She wasted no time jumping in and making new friends.
Picture
She also had no problem telling the other kids to "MOOOOVE"!!!!

I got very few pictures at her party because Hannah basically told me I had taken enough and to put my camera up. So I obliged and enjoyed my time with her and her friends.

I feel like I'm always posting pictures of Makayla asleep but I can't help myself. She is just so sweet and that little lip and chin..kills me! She had worn herself out partying it up with Hannah. She's also sleeping on a blanket my dad bought me for Christmas several years ago. It is so soft and comfy. I want to go sleep on it right now!

Bella got some good news today. No surgery right now for her ears and tonsils. She has been sick several times since school started and is very prone to ear infections. The doctor thinks the ears are stemming from allergies and the recurrent strep throat is just from being around kids now that she's back at school. I'm happy she doesn't have to have surgery and am praying she can stay healthy!

I was thinking today about Erin Brockevich's speech last night and loved the quote she ended with and wanted to share it.. even though I'm sure a lot of people have heard it before:
What lies behind you and what lies before you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

My little artist
Well, I actually love this everyday...Bella's passion for art! She has been taking art class after school on Tuesdays since school started. I think if she could, she would go Every.Single.Day. She gets to do something new each week, and she enjoys it all, but she especially loves painting. I also love the apron my mom bought her to wear to her class..it's so cute and reversible. The fabric on the other side is the same as the pocket. She's very creative and always excited to show me what she has done.

I'm not surprised they chose Julia Roberts to play her, she is a very beautiful woman in person.
Getting to hear Erin Brokovich speak at Tech tonight. She described herself as serious and funny and I think her speech had both serious and funny elements to it.  She seemed like someone who would be very fun to be around. She is also not afraid to drop a few "F" bombs on ya either. She talked about the movie and what she has been working on since then. I think what I took from her talk..more than anything else...was to fight for want you want, what is right, what you need..etc. Not to get in the way of yourself...believe you can do it..and that there are always going to be obstacles but you always have to fight through them. It was a pain to go back to school tonight, but I'm really glad I went.

This picture is killing me..why is she looking at her like that? HA. HA.
Country Music! I did a lot of driving today and the radio didn't let me down. They played a great mix of new and old and fast and slow songs. Sometimes I just enjoy silence..but today I just wanted to listen to music...Country Music..turned up way too loud..and sing at the top of my lungs in my gosh awful voice. And I did. And I liked it.
Here are a few of my favorites right now.  This..I love Miranda's voice on this song. I think it's probably my favorite since The House That Built Me.
This..I can listen to this over and over.  This...My favorite song they have ever sang. And this..I hadn't heard this song in a while and am glad I did today. The very first line is my fave..there's just something about his voice.

I hope that everyone has had a great Tuesday!
