This morning I fixed Hannah's lunch, took Bella to school, and went to the YMCA with Makayla to take a class. I then got ready myself and went to school for the rest of the day. Before I came home, I picked Bella up from art class, and finally made my way back home..and I turned 31!!! It's funny how life events such as turning a whole year older happen right there in the middle of the extraordinary of everyday. I honestly couldn't ask for a better day. I'm blessed to be a mother and wife and have great family and friends. I thought it would be nice to remember a few things from my 30th year in no particular order:

I know that I already mentioned this but they are my reason everyday:

I got to momma these girls and how awesome is that!

I drove to Woodstock, GA to take a photography class from a blogger that I have followed for several years. My friend Sunny went with me and this is a picture she took of me while we were at the class. I can finally shoot on MANUAL!!!!!!! Im actually really proud of that because it was on my list of things to accomplish this year!!

I have physically gotten so much stronger this year. I've never had this much muscle and I put in the work for it... And I'm proud of that. I've got a long way to go but I've come so far! I also feel like I have an extra family at the Y. I wouldn't be where I am physically if it wasn't for Candy and Kyle and ..they are so wonderful...they are so supportive and motivate me to do more. Plus, I love each woman that I work out with! They are such a great support system and just great people. Thanks Girls!

I went back to school. I just didn't see myself going back to the O.R., and I thought long and hard about what I would like to do with myself the next 30 years..if I'm lucky. I decided to go back to school for elementary education. I am only going part time and even that has been stressful at times, but I love learning. I want to be the teacher I would want my children to have. I took the picture above on a particularly stressful day when I had a big test.  The lights were out where I was trying to study   and I could NOT get them to turn on. I found the chair and pulled it by the window and studied as hard as I could..I made an A on that test..it's a reminder to me that it will all be worth it in the end.

I celebrated my 5th Mother's Day as a mom!

I tried my best to become a beach bum. Pierre and I took the girls to visit his family in Jacksonville, Florida and then my mom and I took the girls to visit Tiffer in Charleston, South Carolina.

I went to my hometown fair. I always loved going as a kid and my kids love it now too. This is the first year I've gotten on the rides again and it was fun!
Lets see..I also had an amazing time with Pierre when we went on an overnight trip to Chattanooga. We stayed at the Chattanoogan and it was so nice. It was very peaceful and I think we should do it again soon!  We also took the girls to Chattanooga on an overnight trip and went to the Creative Discovery Museum and stayed at a hotel with an indoor pool which the girls loved!

I took an overnight trip to Nashville with some girlfriends and I felt 18 again until the next day when I started missing my girls like crazy! I would love to go on another little trip with them too!

I carved out some time to read for fun. Some of my favorite books were The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant..I literally couldn't quit reading it and didn't want it to end at the same time.  Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg...if you liked the movie you will love the book so much more.  Witness by E.G. Lewis...it really made the birth of Jesus more real to me and I would like to read the rest of the books in the series. And I thought Tell Your Time by Amy Lynn Andrews was worth the read.

This is just a handful of memories that I've made this year. There are so many, many more that have made up each day of my 30th year..good and bad..and I'm thankful for them all!!!!
