Hannah excited to see the animals.
Since Bella is out of school this week for Fall Break, we decided to take the girls to Grassmere Zoo in Nashville. The day was absolutely beautiful and the girls behaved so well! The day turned out even better than I could have asked for. We had no melt downs and we all enjoyed the zoo and just spending time with our family of 5.
I had found a cute zoo passport on pinterest and the girls were really excited to find all of the animals and put their star stickers in the right place. I think next time I will try to make one myself with all of the animals at Grassmere, this passport was made for the zoo in Memphis, but it still worked great.
Hannah was so excited she would not sit in the stroller. She walked around the zoo all day with her little (big) monkey back pack. I think she was proud to be carrying a back pack since she sees Bella carrying one to school.
The zoo also has a little train that they were so, so excited to ride on. Bella counted out the dollars/tokens it took for the ride!
One of the animals we all enjoyed were the Meerkats. They were so cute and they had a little bubble to look through that made it look like you were in the middle of the Meerkats.
All of the walking worked up an appetite and there were plenty of picnic tables to sit and have lunch at. I had packed us all a lunch and the girls decided we needed to eat before we visited with the elephants.
There was a new addition to the zoo and we made sure to see her before we finished up for the day. Her name is Camilla and she is a sweet baby giraffe. We wanted our picture made with Camilla but somehow only her legs ended up in the picture. I'm sure she would have loved Bella's face if she could have seen her!
It is so neat to see some of God's creations that we don't often get to see. I asked the girls who made all of the animals and they told me God!! We have a family membership now because it just made sense if we plan on going back in the next year, so I'm looking forward to going back! I think we all felt like Makayla at the end of the day!
